Rob Horton is an award-winning actor with extensive theatre, acting, directing and teaching experience. Originally from the UK where he ran his own innovative theatre company, he taught Stanislavski in specially formulated school’s projects and co-created several international acting projects with Romania and Russia.In Australia, Rob has focussed on film and television work appearing in the ‘K9’ children’s television series and PJ Hogan’s ‘Mental’,together with recent features ‘The Dossier Case’ and ‘Break The Rock’.Rob has an Honours Degree in Teaching and has worked extensively as a Role Player and Role Play Facilitator.He has a deep involvement with Qigong and Meditation. He has recently completed Masterclass training with Scott Williams the renowned Master Meisner teacher. The goal of the Meisner approach is for the actor to not focus on themselves and instead concentrate on the other actors in the immediate environment. To this end, some exercises for the Meisner technique are rooted in repetition so that the words are deemed insignificant compared to the underlying emotion. In the Meisner technique, there is a greater focus on the other actor as opposed to one's internal thoughts or feelings associated with the character.
